Often, when we think about reading the location tends to be in a place that is indoors; being warm and cozy inside during a rainy day with a good book, having a reading center nestled in a corner of a classroom, public libraries where you can sit and read quietly.

Recently our community partners at Seattle Public Libraries and Seattle Parks and Recreation launched an initiative called Storywalk In the Parks, where children’s books are posted on boards and staked into the ground. This encourages readers of all ages to walk and read the story. This week on Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center grounds we have the wonderful children’s book, Powwow Day.

Come on down to Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center and make your way down to the large pond located behind the building. You’ll follow a gravel path down and see the story boards posted up. They are up for viewing M-F 9am-430pm. Check back for the next story! And click here for other Storywalks!!!
